Currently BIOSA is undertaking contract-based environmental conservation projects covering an area of around 2500 hectares. In co-operation with land owners and scientists, 20-year biotope management projects are in place. In this way, ecosystem research is promoted and results with a practical relevance for environmentally-oriented cultivation are gathered.

Funding for BIOSA projects is raised from official bodies, sponsors, international programs and membership contributions. This opens the possibility for exemplary co-operation, for instance with the Department of Environmental Conservation of the Federal Province of Styria, where highly efficient contract-based conservation projects are continually being put into practice.

Good ideas are commonplace, but only BIOSA has the land at its disposal for their realisation. BIOSA can give every sponsor a guarantee of the conflict-free implementation of measures on a broad scale. BIOSA focuses on eco-sponsoring and in this way plans to move actively in the direction of demand-driven design of environmental conservation services.
