The spring, located at the foot of the Ulrichsberg, was worshipped by the Celts and Romans and given the names Isis Noreia and Casuotanus respectively. It was one of the most important ritual sites between the Adriatic and the North Sea , and today represents one of Austria 's most important natural and cultural treasures. Over a thousand years ago, a Celtic settlement stood on the nearby upland moor, which now displays a variety of typical tree cover.
